Government Jobs After 10th Pass (2026): Full List With Age Limits and Salary
Every government job you can apply for with a 10th pass certificate — SSC MTS, SSC GD Constable, RRB Group D, police and state posts — with the official age limit for each.
A 10th pass (matriculation) certificate is enough for 20 government posts across 16 recruitment exams in our database. These are permanent government jobs with pay-matrix salaries, not contract work.
Below is the full list, with the upper age limit for General category candidates from each official notification. SC/ST candidates usually get 5 more years and OBC candidates 3 more — read how age relaxation works before you rule yourself out.
The biggest government jobs for 10th pass candidates
- SSC MTS & Havaldar — Multi-Tasking Staff in central offices, and Havaldar in CBIC and CBN. All-India, large vacancies every year.
- SSC GD Constable — Constable (General Duty) in the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, NIA and SSF. Includes a physical test.
- RRB Group D — Track Maintainer, Pointsman, Helper and Porter in Indian Railways.
- Intelligence Bureau Security Assistant — a central intelligence post recruited through the IB's own exam.

What to check before you apply
- Age on the "as on" date. Each notification fixes the date your age is counted on. Being 27 today does not matter if you were 26 on that date — or the reverse.
- Physical standards. Constable posts have height, chest and running standards. Read them before you pay the fee.
- Domicile. A few state posts accept only residents of that state; these are marked "domicile only" in the table.
